Guadalajara is a magnificent southwestern colonial city, in the highlands of the state of Jalisco. Like Mexico City, at 5000 feet (1800 meters), Guadalajara’s high altitude should be approached with caution by heart or asthma patients. With a mammoth population of 4,000,000 people, Guadalajara is remarkably well managed, clean and efficient.
